Radiocarbon Date Merit Award: deadline Friday March 15, 2024

Value: one AMS C14 analysis

Frequency: two per calendar year (typically in the spring)

Eligibility: Any member with membership in good standing; the member who holds the PIF on a recent/current project, or any member conducting research on a project with no active PIF.

Radiocarbon Date Lottery : a draw for one AMS C14 analysis will take place at the 2024 AGM on May 25th

Value: one AMS C14 analysis

Frequency: two per calendar year (typically in the fall/winter)

Gidigaa-Migizi-Ban Award for Oral Tradition Research (formerly Reserve Lands Research Award): deadline Sunday March 31, 2024

Value: $750

Frequency: once per calendar year (typically in the late winter / early spring)

EligibilityAny member with membership in good standing; the member who holds the PIF on a recent/current project, or any member conducting research on a project with no active PIF.

Paul Lennox Research Award: deadline Sunday September 1, 2024

Value: $500 plus one complimentary year of membership in APA (Ontario)

Frequency: once per calendar year

EligibilityAny member with membership in good standing.

Student Bursary Awards: deadline Tuesday April 30, 2024

Value: $750

Number: 2 awards granted per academic year

Frequency: once per calendar year (typically in the late summer / early fall)

Eligibility for the APA Indigenous Post-Secondary Student Bursaryany APA Ontario member in good standing who is a part-time or full-time undergraduate or graduate student, currently enrolled in courses pertaining to the study of cultural resource management and which are relevant to the discipline of Archaeology/CRM in Ontario and its closely related fields of knowledge (i.e. Indigenous studies, applied landscape GIS, etc); and an individual affiliated with a First Nations, Métis or Inuit community.

Eligibility for the APA Post-Secondary Student Bursaryany APA Ontario member in good standing who is a part-time or full-time undergraduate or graduate student, currently enrolled in courses pertaining to the study of cultural resource management and which are relevant to the discipline of Archaeology/CRM in Ontario and its closely related fields of knowledge (i.e. Indigenous studies, applied landscape GIS, etc).

Conference Travel Awards: next deadline TBD (temporarily on-hold, and funds redirected to assist with membership fees during the pandemic)

Value: $250

Number: 3 awards granted per cycle

Frequency: twice per calendar year (one in the spring and one in the fall)

Eligibility: Any member with membership in good standing; must have their title/abstract ready and details of the conference/symposium known or have had their paper or poster accepted by the conference organizing committee prior to the application deadline.
